The United Arab Emirates (UAE) consist of seven federal emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al Quwain. Emissions standards are regulated by the Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA). Euro 4 standards for light duty vehicles and Euro IV standards for heavy duty vehicles were introduced in 2018.
