Emissions standards in Peru are set jointly by the Ministry of the Environment (Ministerio del Ambiente, MINAM) and the Ministry of Transport and Communications (Ministerio de Transporte y Comunicaciones, MTC). Peru applies EU emissions requirements and options are also given to comply with US Federal standards. The current emissions standards are Euro 4 and Euro IV, for light duty and heavy duty applications respectively. Euro 6 and Euro VI standards are due to apply from October 2025. Euro 3 standards are in place for motorcycles.
