Mexico - Heavy Duty Vehicles

Status

Emissions legislation in Mexico is the responsibility of the Environment Ministry, SEMARNAT (Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources).

Emissions legislation allows heavy duty diesel vehicles to be certified to either US EPA or EU standards. Standards equivalent to Euro VI or EPA 2010 were introduced from 1 January 2019. For spark-ignition engine vehicles, standards also provide US Federal and EU certification options.
