International - World Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure

The concept of the World Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) was promoted and endorsed by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and procedures are being developed by a UNECE working group. The working group is the Working Party on Pollution and Energy, known as GRPE.

Global Technical Regulation (GTR) No.15 (Phase 1) was published in May 2014. Phase 1b amendments were published in March 2017 and additional minor amendments were published in August 2017, February 2018, September 2018 and September 2019. Amendment 6, published in January 2021, adds some new Annexes to the regulation, to include requirements on low temperature testing, durability testing and on-board diagnostics.
