EU - Heavy Duty Vehicles

Status

The current EU heavy duty emissions standards are Euro VI standards, which apply from 31 December 2012 for new type approvals and from 31 December 2013 for all new registrations. Quantification of emissions is carried out using the Worldwide Harmonized Steady-state and Transient (WHSC and WHTC) test cycles. Updated in-service conformity requirements apply to new type approvals since 1 January 2017; limits on particle numbers during on-road testing for in-service conformity apply, for new type approvals, from 1 January 2021.
