Emissions regulations in Chile are the responsibilty of the Ministry of Environment (Ministerio del Medio Ambiente - MMA) and the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (Ministerio de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones). Vehicle emissions standards in Chile are based on EU standards; options to use US EPA standards are also in place. Euro 6 and US Tier 3 equivalent standards were first introduced on 30 September 2022; they were originally due to be implemented from March 2020.
