Emissions regulations in Chile are the responsibilty of the Ministry of Environment (Ministerio del Medio Ambiente - MMA) and the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications (Ministerio de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones). Vehicle emissions standards in Chile are based on EU or US EPA standards, with an option to use either. Current heavy duty emissions standards for diesel vehicles, which apply to most of Chile, are based on either US EPA 07 or Euro V standards. US EPA 10 or Euro VI equivalent requirements will apply from 2026.
