Emissions requirements in California are regulated by CARB (California Air Resources Board). For many applications, CARB issues regulatory requirements separately from the EPA, although emissions standards might be aligned with the Federal ones. Updated heavy duty emissions standards apply from MY 2024. Electrification requirements for heavy duty vehicles are also in place, from model year 2024.
