Mandatory CO₂ emissions standards for light duty vehicles apply from 2025, the relevant regulation was issued in May 2024. Previously, voluntary CO₂ emissions standards for light duty vehicles were being implemented, through coordination of the FCAI (Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries).
