Emissions regulations in Malaysia are issued by the Department of Environment. Current light and heavy duty diesel vehicle standards are equivalent to Euro 1 and Euro I regulations respectively; gasoline light commercial vehicles must also conform to Euro 1 standards. Passenger cars with gasoline engines must conform to Euro 2 standards. Motorcycle emissions standards are set to Euro 3 levels.
