Japan does not, currently have emissions legislation for gasoline engined boats or for vessels with diesel engines of less than 130 kW power output.  It is, however, a signatory to the International Maritime Organization MARPOL (Marine Pollution) agreement which is applicable to marine diesel engines of more than 130 kW.
