China - Fuels

Status

Fuel regulations and standards in China exist both nationally and, for some areas, on a regional basis. National regulations are formulated by the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) and, after approval by the State Council, they are jointly released by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ). Sixth phase gasoline and diesel standards (10 ppm maximum sulphur concentration) are currently in place, nationwide.
